Bob Page to lead Paramedics workshop at Goshen General Hospital on Jan. 12

GOSHEN, Ind. - Internationally known speaker, instructor, author and paramedic, Bob Page, is coming to Goshen General Hospital in January.

Page has presented seminars across the United States, Canada and in the United Kingdom. He is recognized for his energetic, humorous and motivational style and his ability to take ordinarily dry and hard to teach topics and transform them into a fun, learning experience.

On Monday, Jan. 12, Bob Page will lead his 12 Lead ECG Workshop from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Arbor Conference Rooms of Goshen General Hospital. Hosted by the Goshen Health System's Healthy Generations and the Goshen City Fire Department, this nationally acclaimed workshop is excellent for RNs, Paramedics and others involved in the emergency or critical care environment. Cost for the seminar is $50. Call (574)-535-2600 to register.

According to Jon Whitmar, Healthy Generation's EMS/CPR Education Coordinator, a 12-Lead Electrocardiogram is a representation of the heart's electrical activity recorded from electrodes on the body surface. It allows multiple views of the heart and an easier diagnosis of cardiac conditions than what was possible with the 3-Lead ECG used in the past.

With 12 lead ECG's now becoming a standard, Page takes a unique and entertaining approach to bringing paramedics up to date with this new knowledge. He has been teaching this new philosophy with great success since 1990.

Page has been an instructor for over 3 years and has taught all levels of EMS and nursing. Involved in EMS since 1978 when he became a CPR instructor, Page is a nationally registered paramedic and a critical care paramedic. He is the Director of Emergency Care Education at St. John's Regional Health Center in Springfield, Missouri.
